This year lots of funny things have happened to this class. Apparently staying with people for three days you learn a lot about yourself and others… Also how what can go wrong does go wrong. Here is just a hint of what did go wrong. barf, and splash! During Hornby Camp you may know about the splash. Kayaking Incident with the beginning of the year. I figured that if your camping with me and JulianDon’t let us get a hold of a flash light. That is were the puke goes in this tragic storey of horror storeys of Hornby Tales! Well I guess that this started at the dinner tables. Well Daniel had about 5 bowls of salad before it happened. So we were just enjoying another dinner, when we got back to our tent Daniel had gone to the bathroom so me and Julian and grabbed his flashlight and started to do a strobe light play. When Daniel git back hes wasn’t feeling to good from the 5 bowls of salad and me and Julian showed Daniel and near the end Daniel went outside the tent and all you heard was huurk! as soon as we heard that the teachers were rushing out of ther tends to see what happened. I was helping get Daniel’s stuff near the door so that he could get out easier. Me and Julian are blaming Kris because he was not smart enough to keep the flash light away from us so it almost Kris’s fault.
Monday the 11 Josh From Arts Umbrella and Franzesca came into the class for 2 weeks they came in in the morning and would work with us on the glocal project with the motion sequence and multiplexposure to make abstract art. During the time that we had Josha and Franzesca I learned a lot about abstract art and the glocal project. My favorite part was using the multiple exposure to layer the images and make one image negative and anther that is fading out, with multipexposure it is really fun making yourself look like a zombie by layering your face like 10 times with different expressions each time. This image is my favorite because it looks like there is a blue stairway down a very tall build and when you look down the spiraling stairway, you know the kind I’m talking about. If I could redo this image I would definitely put the camera on an angle to the right or left to give it a reflective effect and so that you can almost see something inside it. I would Like to thank Franzesca and Josh for giving the chance to do the glocal project and it was really fun making the abstract images.
As I walk up to the pathway up to the court I approach the finely kept building with gardens on the sides. I notice through the court room window that it’s is already set up with the Canadian flag and crest set up near the witness box. When I walk in I didn’t expect to be search through and go though a metal detector. As I walk thought to the court room doors I hear a small beep from the other people.
I seat myself in a public bench as I wait my turn to Testify. The court clerk who calls up witnesses to the stands. I hear the court recorder tapping away recording everything I say to be read back again. I look at the public looking at me from the public bleachers. The translator translating to the French Canadians who don’t understand english not very well I always wonder how the translators manage to keep up with what the speakers are saying and telling the people what they’re saying. the crown prosecutor is done asking me questions. I see the court room security guard, I guess that you would need to have gone thought a lot of security to be trusted with the security of the court room. I look at the defence attorney and think, what would that like , It would probably be easy if you were carismatic and have gone thought a lot of law school, you would probably be able to identify how evidence that is used against you could look false. I look at the judge listening intently to what I’m saying for the final verdict to if the accused is guilty, But in some courts have a jury that decides.
In Canadian courts they keep it fair by having so that none in the jury has read to much about the case and get biased ideas or the jury doesn’t now the accused as a friend or relative. I think that fairness in the courts very important and not biased because if someone doesn’t have a fair trial and they didn’t do it then they could get punished for something they didn’t do.
On Saturday April the 25 the Boston Red Sox played the New york Yankees. The final score was 16, 11 for the Sox. After the 4th inning Boston was down by 6 runs. The bases get loaded and JD Drew is up to bat, Drew hits a single and scores one run. The bases are loaded for the Sox captain… Jason Varitek! None out bases loaded. The pitch is delivered, Varitek swings and this ball has some carry to it, it’s deep to right field and it’s over the wall! Grand slam! Now the Red Sox are behind by 1. The next three outs come and no runs, Up to this point Third basemen Mike Lowell had no hits, this was about to change. In the seventh inning there were two people on base and Lowell hit a three run home run over the Green Monster* to make it 8 six Sox. On Lowell’s next at bat he hit a three run single to center field. From this point the score went back and forth. In the end Red Sox all star closer Jonathan Papelbon came in and closed down the Yankees.
In this game the Red Sox had the biggest comeback in the history of their ball club since 1968.
I started to wake up I saw I giant bug staring at me my legs started to wobble and then I tried to run but my legs wouldn’trespond, they had me knocked out so I couldn’t move. And then I realized that it was putting its hands in my mouth. Then wait a minute, bugs don’t have hands or mouth masks or even mouths that the mouth mask would be used for! It took me a second to realize that I was still in the dentists office getting a tooth pulled. I was so relived that I could have hugged my dentist then I realized that I couldn’t move because I was supposed to not move thus the reason why I was knocked out. At the end of the day I had night mares that I was being abducted. And who said I wasn’t abducted.
On March the 27 Ms.Waters wrote a post challenging other classes to writing a post an how blogging has either helped you build a global audience or how a blogging has changed your life, or a post showing what you know about media on blogs.
During the time that our class has been blogging I have learned about how to write. Before our class started blogging I didn’t really bother with writing because I knew that after the teacher marked your writing it was forgotten.
When our class started blogging even after the assignment was handed in other people could give feedback about your writing.
When something really interesting happens in my life that I would want to share with more than the class I can write about it on my blog.
With blogging you can connect with other people with the same interests.
One of the most special things when start blogging is when you see that first dot on your cluster map (our class even still get exited when we see a new dot on our cluster maps, ssh)
If you blog what is your favorite part of blogging if you blog and if you don’t what sounds most interesting about blogging.
For one class each week Ms. Prager talked to us about the Alert program.
After waking up in the morning do you felt like you can’t stand up because your so tired, after you eat do you feel like you can’t sit down because your really hyper. If you said yes to any of these scenarios then this blog post is for you (yes you ,in the chair) these are 8 easy steps to getting from high to just right and low to just right.
High to just right and low to just right, Try putting your arm straight in front of you and under your desk pulling until you feel just right.
High and low to just right,if you have a small toy that doesn’t distract you and play with it under your desk.
If you are high, you can do a chair push up by putting your arms and push down with your arms slowly and quietly.
From low to just right. If your allowed to eat during class have something that is sour or crunchy like the stick men in my movie.
from high to just right. you can eat something that is sweet or sugary (weird I know).
if you are low, you can take a scented cotton ball and sniff it.Also there are ones that can calm you down.
if you are high or low you can pull up your legs to your chest and pull hard to your chest. The pulling on your chest would be heavy work and the pressure would be deep pressure.
Also you can try experimenting with different way of waking up and calming down with lighting and sounds
This is a story of what the mars rover would think if it could think for itself.
Month 45 on this barren planet, The Mars Rover slowly rolls among the huge mountain like craters. Taking pictures of the planet surface to help NASA. Doomed to spend a robot eternity taking pictures or till my battery gets to low and my solar panel is covered to shut me down. All I can do is roll around the surface of mars and collect pictures for NASA. It gets boring after the first 4 months, Now the dust storms are coming towards me and if I don’t move my panels will be covered and its over for me. Oh well, may as well get some pictures in before I get shut down. The rover spots some small lakes of water and starts taking pictures. Mabbie theses pictures will be enough to get me back home. I sure NASA is ready to bring me home to earth soon so I can see an actual inhabitable planet and show my son the plant that I was born at.
Have you seen the Inauguration of president Barack Obama. This morning when I walked in the class room I saw the whole class staring at the smart board and I thought I was late. When I walked in I saw the screen playing in a small window with a a person making a speech and right away I knew that we were watching an Inauguration. The first thing I asked was.
“Did I miss Obama’s Oath because I don’t want to miss history” When Obama was making his speech one thing that really stuck was the line
“greatness is not gained but is earned”
I think that Obama beingpresident is great because it shows you that no matter what colour that you are we’re all the same and have equal chances.
Now if I live to see the first Female president in the US I would have seen two firsts for the states.
If you saw the Inauguration then comment on this post and what you really liked
On November the 3 our class created drama world called Huzzania. In Huzzania apparently the government is crumbling because the person dealing with taxes bought stuffies. Because of that the Prime Minister quit and the Government dissolved. During the conference everyone made a name for themselves the funniest name I heard was Bob the Builder. The party I’m in is the NCP (The New Classroom Party). Last year I can remember our class election everyone crossed the floor to the Go Flames party, a hole party dissolved to the go flames party. I hope that doesn’t happen this year.
