Are You High or Low?

13 02 2009

For one class each week Ms. Prager talked to us about the Alert program.

After waking up in the morning do you felt like you can’t stand up because your so tired, after you eat  do you feel like you can’t sit down because your really hyper. If you said yes to any of these scenarios then this blog post is for you (yes you ,in the chair) these are 8 easy steps to getting from high to just right and low to just right.

  1. High to just right and low to just right, Try putting your arm straight in front of you and under your desk pulling until you feel just right.
  2. High and low to just right,if you have a small toy that doesn’t distract you and play with it under your desk.
  3. If you are high, you can do a chair push up by putting your arms and push down with your arms slowly and quietly.
  4. From low to just right. If your allowed to eat during class have something that is sour or crunchy like the stick men in my movie.
  5. from high to just right. you can eat something that is sweet or sugary (weird I know).
  6. if you are low, you can take a scented cotton ball and sniff it.Also there are ones that can calm you down.
  7. if you are high or low you can pull up your legs to your chest and pull hard to your chest. The pulling on your chest would be heavy work and the pressure would be deep pressure.
  8. Also you can try experimenting with different way of waking up and calming down with lighting and sounds

  Ms. Prager (11:43:40) :

Creating “8 easy steps” is an interesting idea that will encourage your readers to try a number of different strategies. I also like how you mention that sometimes fidget tools can be a distraction, as can other strategies (like the chair push-ups) if not done quietly. Your video is well done, and a great way to support your “8 easy steps!”
