Hornby Camp

20 10 2008

Have you ever gone kayaking? I have, it probably was the funnest thing I’ll ever do. Also it was the scariest.  It was the ending of September so it was so cold. Climbing into the kayak almost hurt because it was so cold.  We started paddling. It got a bit easier, but the one thing our group leader didn’t cover turning. Bump bump. He could at least have told us how to stop, stopping came to me.

After a few minutes we started to play tag. You tagged the person by bumping them. We we’re really good at that. And tapping them with our paddle.  Then the It person was coming towards me. I tried to turn around but the next thing I know is my kayak is up sidedown and I’m freezing cold. When I’m swimming back I can’t feel my shoulders down. Guess what, I had a shirt on that sucks up water. When I got to the camp site I changed. It felt so good to get dry clothes on.
